?

can people in the know about what is needed to run a helmet camera have a look and see if this fits the bill?

And if so is it a good deal? £200 off seems good to me!

I think you'll need an AV input socket if you want to add a helmet cam to it. That camera, according to the specs doesn't have it. Might be worth checking the JVC site in case it does and Curry didnt add it to the spec.

Dont know! couldnt see if there was a separate video input, 1400g is that a bit heavy?

This may be of use...

It would appear that that's an old model that JVC no longer make. The new version (GR-D73) does have everything you'd need (a/v in/out, dv in/out) but the rather poor spec sheet on the Curry's site does appear to suggest it only has DV out, which won't do the job at all

Apparently. you CAN do it with a DV out only Cam corder.....but you need to buy a DOngle and then arse around with it all......
easier to buy the proper thing in the first place I feel !

It looks very similar to my GR-D53 (same as a 73 but without a memory stick for stills - you can still take them but they go straight to tape) which is ace and has AV-in (as used with helmet cam on NMRO.....).

A mate has just bought a GR-D73 from Jessops for about £350 so it may be worth a try!
