WR250F - Need to Make Exhaust Quieter

Hi.

I have a 2003 WR250F that is far too loud (has a DEP end can). I'm struggling to find a second hand end can for the bike of the same year. I don't want to spend loads of money (less than £100) and I'm not really fussed about power as I'm not racing it. Will exhausts from later bikes (e.g. 2007 model) fit it?

 Also, does the 2003 have a spark arrestor and is one necessary?

If you give me some dimensions I can modify your silencer or make you a new 304 stainless one ? PM me for a chat?

You're gonna have to do a lot better than just holding a six inch ruler in front of the can mate!!! I need the exact internal bore of the silencer and the length of it. Also need pix looking down the inside from both ends? Best bet would be to send me the silencer. What did you pay for it?

Sorry, wasn't sure exactly what you wanted. Thought I'd just send you some rough numbers at least. I didn't pay for it, it came on the bike when I bought it. How much do you reckon it'll cost to modify the current one and how much for a new one?

I can make you a cylindrical New one for about 80 quid. I can quieten that one for about fifty. I am going to need pix and exact dimensions of the place where it bolts on and the bore and length. May be simpler to post it ?

Do you make absorption (i.e. typical perforated tube wrapped in exhaust packing) or capacitive (i.e. chambers) exhausts? How would you quieten my current one? By repacking it?

Repack it with stainless and fibreglass packing. Smaller perforated tube. Interference baffle. Depends what works. Need to hear or see what you have now? Have you priced up a new one?
