Have you not given up yet?

Did I say it was anyones fault I said when I come on here fe instructors were getting slated and I saw no one representing them.

You said, and I quote:

My beef was that there was no voice on here for instructors

To have a beef with something is to have complaint about something.

If you are complaining about something you must think it is someone's fault or you would just DO something about it rather than complain.

The point is that this bloke is the sort we have to put up with, although he is very much the minority, One of the points I`ve made is that we don`t get paid but have to take shit, I`d be quite happy if these people went to the office and took it out on Kh but not the people that give up their time to hopefully help others

Yeah sorry guys and gals, I did say it was off the top of my head tho. It wasn't an exhaustive list.

Ok, so nothing you or I were talking about then?

To be honest, the most constructive thing i can say is

THEY ARE GREAT ! i don't want them changing in the slightest. I've never seen all these 'muppets' that people go on about.

Or the lunatics who cut everyone up.

I've never actually been to a bad trackday, or one that's been poorly run.

In the ideal world, i'd like a "road bike only" trackday or two... that would be pleasant for me, but not a major factor in whether i doa TD again etc.

pretty much agree with that weeksy.it was the 2nd post on the entire thread too. (the rest has just been mostly entertainment).

imho, theres not a lot wrong with trackdays, regardless of who's running the day.
there will always be a few knobheads who think they are the next rossi. bikes are narrow, tracks are wide. give them a wide berth and you'd be very unfortunate to get taken out. (always a risk, but so is crossing a busy road).
briefings are here to stay, get over it!

Not at all.
I just think you think everyone is out to get you when they really aren't.

There's wankers and decent blokes who are instructors.
There's wankers and decent blokes who are punters.

Who gives a shit?

Now, what CAN be done to improve trackdays?

There`s a high turn over of instructors ,

I do wonder why that is, do all the new instructors each year do the instructor course as I was under the impression the course only ran once a year ?

As for the course yo mentioned several things it covers but didn't mention if it covers riding skills which is the main thing you would comment on. I assume it does so you are all teaching the same thing and if it does is it a CSS style of teaching or something different ?

I don`t think everyone is out to get me, I`ve had some good responses on here, I think that just like the briefings there are certain people on here that don`t listen. What can we do to improve track days, Well for a starter I think all the tdo`s should get together and standardise the whole procedure, Think I`ll Start my own tdo

Yer in a different league tho.

Different Mike Edwards. I think.

This one is Mike who was chief instructor, etc. for the Folly and runs the MIST Suzuki team.

Captain Blue

Doing a trackday is like making love to a beautiful woman: you need to have a good close look at your ride, make sure she's not too unwieldy and then when she's warmed up, ride her hard and fast for a number of 20 minute sessions

No it does not cover riding skills cos all of the instructors are picked because they haven`t got a clue and only passed their test 3 weeks earlier, The course is run once a year but during the year more instructors are recruited,

LOL so the criteria for being an instructor is what ? Are we saying that time on a bike means you can be an instructor ? Who taught you the right and wrong way to ride round a track ? Are you assessed on your riding knowledge ?

This isn't an argument I genuinely want to know what qualifies you to instruct if the course doesn't cover riding skills, surprised it doesn't as you could have different ideas between instructors !
