Just finished building a track R1 and need some advise on gearing chaps.

I've already dropped it one tooth on the front which they say is the same as 2-2.5 on the back is this enough? didn't seem to be using 6 much on oulton park

What do ya fink?

sounds ok !!

most racers only use 5 gears at most circuits !

i only use 5 at cadwell and mallory, Anglesey, Snetterton

suck it and see !

depends wot u think to it m8.

u could drop it even more but that might make it more vicious when accelerating out of corners.

i use all 6 gears when i race and if it dont then i konck it down til i do... simply to get the acceleration out of mine in lower gears. but thats coz its a 600 and couldnt spin the rear if i tried.... an R1 would be diferent i imagine tho

as ricey said, suck it and see.

Try using 15-46, seems to be good gearing for most circuits - exept snett. i go as low as 14-46/47 at mallory. I always use all 6 gears - it keeps the engine buzzin all the time

kick it straight and go again
