BBC gain exclusive rights for UK broadcasting

I suppose that means we have to put up with that Australian dickhead and Parrish. Oh joy....

Bollocks, there goes any chance of watching any of the 125's & 250's, including qualifying, guess we will also lose Ryder, Moody & Mamola, and get Parrish and Cox, BBC have also got the F1 rights from 2009 wonder which event will get the priority... what a load of cnuts Just makes my crap day worse, bet I get a puncture on the way home, or get taken out by the fire engine rushing to my blazing house. Bollocks. rant over.

How the hell is this meant to help Dorna? In the UK they will be getting a fraction of the coverage (not all the practice, qualifying, warm-up etc), no 125s or 250s. How is this good? For who? Then we'll have to suffer the fucking awful BBC commentary - not to mention the fact that they're so ill-informed it astonishes me. How is this meant to compare to the knowledge and intimate personal knowledge that Mamola/Ryder/Moody have of the teams and personnel? I knew that this was going to happen one day, but not so soon. I'm certainly not watching (or listening to, more to the point) the wanky BBC presentation

The MotoGP class is the only 'product' that really matters to Dorna in terms of revenue. Their ambition is to grow MotoGP's audience along the lines of F1, and packaging the premier event along with a couple of races that don't mean much to the casual, non-enthusiast viewer (which would ultimaely make up the majority of the viewing audience, as it does in F1) doesn't help sell that product.

Fair point - but they'll still almost undoubtedly lose the qualifying and will lose the race too if F1, snooker or crown green bowling is on.
I'm waiting for some saddo to spark up with "yebbut they've got Suzi Perry" - to which I reply "get a fucking life! Have you not seen a girl before!" I'm well pissed off! Watching the Eurosport coverage was almost like having a couple of mates round the house watching with you.

A perfect description. Its the way the BBC commentary is aimed at the un-educated that pisses me off, Parish & Cox twice referred to MotoGP bikes on Sunday as Superbikes. FFS , I know its only a small detail but it matters, you cannot top the Eurosport team, informative, witty, and truthful even if it hurts. The BBC should realise that the majority of motorcyclists actually have a depth of knowledge about their sport, as oppose to car drivers and F1, and it won't only be F1 that will get priority you can count on Darts, Football, Rugby, Snooker and Athletics, will all get the popular vote over bikes.

Fingers crossed they may at least put on the qualifying etc on bbc3 or on the red button.

Right, let's do something about it. Here's an email template "Sir I am saddened and dismayed to see that MotoGP is being withdrawn from Eurosport after 2008. Eurosport have the finest coverage of this great sport going, The commentary team of Toby Moody, Julian Ryder & Randy Mamola are absolutely second to none and along with the cracking coverage of practice & qualifying across all motorcycle classes add up to a show and surely coverage for Dorna that is unparalleled? Please would you re-consider this move? Yours and kind regards Your name" I've sent it to: tvproduction@dorna.com from this page http://www.dorna.com/eng/contacts.html Let's bombard them but please, keep it polite and well behaved - there's no other way of doing this. cheers N

Belinda Rogerson (I think) who puts together the Moto GP coverage for the BBC regularly posts on MotoGPnews forums, as does Julian Ryder, we could try persuade her to take on the eurosport commentary team or ask her what coverage there will be next year, (but the site seems to be down at the moment)

Nige, thanks for the link. Email sent. Everyone please do the same

Gotta say that sucks. BBC have never been able to provide the level of coverage that Eurosport do, for any motorsport. Friday Saturday and Sunday coverage of all classes? You can bet we'll be reduced to the MotoGP race and maybe highlights of the qualifying if we are lucky, and theres not an Eastenders episode to show.

Wow, What a shocker!! When do you ever see adverts for their Moto GP coverage? It's still a secret, or it seems it is. Imagine what the F1 coverage is going to be like, all over the place - TV, Radio, Internet, i;e the full works. Seeing as Eurosport will no longer cover Moto GP, then the BBC are going to have to up the ante, Big Time!! Maybe they could sign Toby, Julian and Randy. Wishful thinking!!<!-- / message -->

Only got SKY to watch motorbike racing on Eurosport. We now get BSB on Eurosport, but will lose Moto GP next year to the BBC?. I suppose one consolation it's not on ITV. They really did Fuck up BSB with their coverage
