Good race by the usual suspects, but hats off to Vermuelen.

Yeah just a shame hopper got him back at the last minute

UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall. TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

Nope and it's not the first time Colin has told me the result before I've seen the race.

I enjoyed the racing from Phillip Island. It was interesting listening to the after race interviews. From my viewing point (in front of telly) it definitley looked like Rossi was playing with Hayden. Putting in fast laps when he wanted to or slowing it right down to let the others catch up. Hayden seemed to see it differently though. He was under the impression that he was keeping up with Rossi and because Rossi couldn't lose him he slowed it down and if it wasn't for that he would have had Rossi later in the race.

I dont think Rossi plays cat & mouse unless he has to, all of the ding dong battles he's had with Gibo were only because he could not break away.

He could not break clear from Hayden in Melbourne either, so he did what he does best, confuse the opponent, it will take them years to become as good as he is at that, but Lap for Lap, Hayden was just as fast as the Doc, IMO.

What the fuck was with that gravel that seemed to be two inches higher than the surrounding grass. I winced when I saw Barros hit it and go airboarne OUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Was he badly hurt?

Did anyone else find the camera work yesterday made the race seem much faster than normal? i.e. You got a much better impression of the speed than usual.

My brother comented on it too (so its not just me :P)

cheers

p.s. yeah, the hieght of the gravel was crazy, is Barros ok? When they showed the footage of the marshalls beside him he hadn't moved from the position he landed iirc... a bad one I think, hope he's ok!

Barros seemed to hit a "ridge". I was at Lukey Heights and saw it past the Hayshed. He just took off again. The stand went very quiet, we all thought he was in a bad way.

Rossi's just taking the piss now.

Well done, Vermeulin althought he talk here in Oz is that he might have to wait until 2007.

St Kilda Beach, Melbourne. 7 am, beautiful morning...off to Auckland later...then back home Friday. Go on, tell me it's pissing down and freezing

ps Donington want to come here and be shown how to run a proper MotoGP...

So where's all the Hayden doubters that were ridiculing him when he first entered GP? Seems they've all disappeared from this forum

How the fuck does Biaggi rate a ride for next year

He must have some serious sponsors behind him. Waste of space imo.

Thing is Biaggi is right up there with the following group, there are only eleven points from second to fifth. So I would say he is within the group trying to hunt down Rossi, unfortunately none of them being consistent enough to challenge him on a regular basis.

Still dont like him though, always seems a grumpy sod:smoke:

WUSS#1169, pipe 'n' slippers officionado. 'L'Homme Bleu qui marche plus vite', yes and keep it that way. This is also still dull

VFRs are nice, a bit like me, nice but dull :smoke:

I have been critical of Nicky for a couple of years now, but have to say i thought he was superb at Phillip Island. I don't think Rossi was able to make a serious break or he would have. That was the best racing i have see from Hayden, but he needs to keep that up and carry on improving still.

I still don't think he has done enough to justify a forth year in the Honda factory team though and wonder if almost any of the other guys would be capable of getting equivalent results after such unprecedented support from Honda?

That is a fascinating way of analysing results that i have never seen before. Thank you
