Just had a phone call from a mate...( and he had already spoken to my missus) and it looks like Thursday Night three bikes will be hitting the Ferry in a vain attempt to reach Valencia in time for the Motogp

Going to be a long ride..but I reckon its going to beat being at work for a few days:smoke::smoke::smoke:

Bastid.

Enjoy your little jaunt in slightly warmer climes.

98% of the time I'm right. Why worry about the other 3%.

Don't care I am still going for the ride.. I know a nice tapas bar in Barcelona so that will be sufficient justification

Been there many times, sadly everytime but one I was working and stuck in Sants

Best tapas bar i've tried and failed to get a seat at was 'Cal Pep' near the Picasso museum - hope thats not the one you went to, cos I just couldnt cope with the envy. Still, Barcelona Pinchos are always nice

What port you sailing to?? Calais, Le Havre, Caen, Santander?

I did Le Havre to Barcelona in two days a few years ago, not too difficult, just ten hours a day on the bike......

Murphy's 6th Law 'if every thing appears to be going fine, you missed something'

One day my fingers will type the letters teh in the correct order..... one day.....

Want a holiday in France?

Yep Le Havre..thats what I was thinking and having done a few ten hour days in the saddle I am a little bit sceptical...still no harm in trying

I think Valencia is a good 150 miles further south than Barcelona too....night riding abroad anyone

Read Randy Mamolas piece in MCN earlier and thought how much I'd love to go and stay on and watch the testing afterwards; asked the wife and she said I could as long as I bought her the new sofa she's being after, decorated the hallway, sorted the back room and paid for her to go to London shopping for a few days. Thank God the tv's fixed.
I honestly thought I was incapable of jealousy.

Well
Actually made it down to Valencia..it was the toughest riding of my life. In 5 days we covered 2000 miles with only 40 of them being on motorway...some fantastic roads and no rain..but we had everything else from freezing fog, to 24 degrees blue skies and sunshine..

sadly couldnt get to see the racing as tickets were long gone..but did get to see the scale of the crowds and the great atmosphere and that was just the queue outside..

We travelled down through the tunnel in Andorra..

and arrived to find this brilliant sunshine..mind you thirteen hours in the saddle meant that we saw far more of near freezing temps than we did sunshine..

This was the view after we escaped the queues at the entrance
