was in Hein gerike at lunch and spotted they've got "all weather leathers" or some other sales pitch. basically they're leathers that are watherproof even through the stretch panels and look to have thermal linings.

anyone got / tried em? much use in bad weather / winter?

If all your riding is on the road isn't waterproof textile stuff arguably better ?

I'd rather have the abrasion resistance and reusability of leather if it was available....

(I've crashed in both leather and textiles over the past few years and leathers tend to survive better to be used again - tear a textile jacket and in most cases it's fucked completely).

I had some w/proof leathers from Gericke a few years ago and they do exactly what they say on the tin. Quite heavy and thick, but then they're winter gear so, so what?

Deffo waterproof

textiles can be repaired. I fell off in my Rukka years ago (at the Nurburgring) and the back ripped (result of wearing a back protector!) - got them repaired at a recommended Rukka place - cost about £50 I think and the jacket is as good as new

Its no good looking for the needle if you have already lost the thread.

Yeah - I think you've got (had?) the same thing I had - they don't make em anymore. (and the liners don't last for ever - I managed to get the last liner in the country)

Yep - exactly what I want, but discontinued by HG. They don't do any waterproof leather jackets. However - I have been considering an Alpinestars Alloy.

Only problem I can see with that Jacket Trog is the length of it - if you really want a jacket to be water "tight" it needs to end on your upper thighs rather than at waist height.

You used to be able to get leather jackets cut like that too - mainly on the Continent I think - My first one (which my dad nicked!!) was like that, bought in Holland it is an MQP (I think), and very comfy we've still got it somewhere... .

I've got some HG streetline leather trousers that are 100% waterproof (tested extensively). They have a waterproof membrane between the leather and the lining so do get heavy when really wet cos the leather still soaks up the water it just doesn't get through to my legs

Oxans??

that's the model I've got and they are superb (but soak up a fair bit of water.)
