You woud wear out brakepads at a fantastic rate. I do 80% of my braking by simply by shutting the throttle. I cannot stand a fast tick-over or even being on choke any longer than I have to. Comes from learning on four stroke singles with single leading drum brakes! If you want to keep the revs up in a gearchange just don't close the throttle all the way. It isn't an on-off switch.

Ah, irony. There I go again. Well someone might read that and take it as good advice!

Not just that, but it's insanely dangerous, how can you do a safe stop in an emergency? :S
