i also like raising the idle speed of my bike

it makes it much smoother and easier to ride

with mine, i do it, by adjusting the throttle barrel adjuster

You woud wear out brakepads at a fantastic rate. I do 80% of my braking by simply by shutting the throttle. I cannot stand a fast tick-over or even being on choke any longer than I have to. Comes from learning on four stroke singles with single leading drum brakes! If you want to keep the revs up in a gearchange just don't close the throttle all the way. It isn't an on-off switch.

Ah, irony. There I go again. Well someone might read that and take it as good advice!

Not just that, but it's insanely dangerous, how can you do a safe stop in an emergency? :S

On the SV, changing down into first or second for a junction or tight roundabout used to require absolutely sublime throttle control and even then it was a jerky, off-putting afair most of the time.

yes, because slipping the clutch is so hard??

Whatever happened to perssisance? Keep on trying till you get it right?..... Instead...this guy just finds a workaround....a dumb one at that

Don't look into the light or it'll suck you in like a flea. We're dealing with big ugly powerful forces here, so don't go trying that macho man stuff. Put your super-block-em sunglasses on and keep your eyes on the accountant.
