Where's a good place to search for rental properties?

Gonna need to rent somewhere temporary for a job shortly.....and I'm struggling to find any amount of properties

TBH I think it may be I don't know where to look - I'm checking the rightmove type websites but I'm not sure if the rental market works differently to buying, it's been so long since I've been in it

Should I be looking somewhere else?

Cheers

Where abouts? If its a Uni town check academic listings, not student hovels obviously. Or maybe www.professionalaccommodation.com ?

Yep.......the armpit/corner of North Notts, Derbys & South Yorks, where nice villages alternate with hideous blasted-heath old pit villages

Guess where all the rental properties appear to be

Right moves 2 weeks behind with their properties apparently but they will only do minimum of 6 month lets mostly.

Best thing to do it just google the area you want and 'to let/lettings/rent' etc

also for derbys try thisisderbyshire website.

My OH used to be in the business and when we were in the same situation she said that it is best done through local agencies and papers. Also be aware of all the scams that agencies pull on lettings, they often try to defraud tenants and landlords alike.

Been looking for a place to Rent myself recently...yet to find a website that isn't at least a week out of date. Even the agents own sites are not in sync with what they actually have available.

Best bet it phoning 'em IMO.
