Should we consider the UN an total failure?
Think about all the global events / 'tragedies' we've had in recent years where people have wrung their hands and said 'something Must be done' and it has to be the world (not the US or the UK eh?) that sorts it out, i.e. the UN.
A short list of UN failures where inaction led directly to chaos, destruction, death, and genocide:
Sudan
Rwanda
Sierra Leone
Zimbabwe
Kosovo
Bosnia
Kashmir
East Timor
Angola
Israel-Palestine
Columbia
Somalia
and on it goes.
Can anyone out there see the point of the UN if it's useless in practical terms? What exactly do they achieve?
