For me it has to be the Suzuki RE5. I was a dumb shit and bought one of those things.

Honda RCV , put a decent rider on a crappy old Yamaha and it's toast

Red is Twin Cherries

SV 650 (sorry SM)

it's NOT sporty, it's NOT comfy, it's NOT learner friendly.

GTS1000, or TeDiuM 850?

Ducati Multistrada. It's a ugly ugly bike its not even a good all rounder.

If you can,t use it abuse it

I'm with Dave on this, RE5 rotary was bloody awful, and to think I nearly traded my GT550 for one.

R6. Hideous revvy PoS, non-existent midrange makes it a poor real world bike fit only for the track and empty roads. If only they were.

CCM R30, as I'm yet to see a review of it that simply says "fucking dreadful thing fit only for throwing in the nearest canal"

it's sporty compared to the Bandit 6, I found it comfortable (apart from the windblast on the motorway and that was on the SV650S!) but can't comment on the learner friendly.

compared to any other SS400 or 600 it's a wibbly jelly.

FFS even the MIRTH has more sporting ability!!

The Mirth

Nah...seriously...if you are talking 'overrated'...ie: reconed to be better than it actually is...I'd say the MV Augusta. Sure, it looks pretty....but it's not that fast, it isn't technologically innovative in any way, it's a dead formula (750), it has no racing pedigree, it has zero touring ability (given it's horrendous reliability), it's uncomfortable to ride for any kind of distance, and it's massively over priced for what it is.

Don't look into the light or it'll suck you in like a flea. We're dealing with big ugly powerful forces here, so don't go trying that macho man stuff. Put your super-block-em sunglasses on and keep your eyes on the accountant.

For me personally it has to be the RD500YPVS when you are talking about hype and anticipation having owned all the other RDLC family.

When I rode the 500 a ridiculously tall 1st gear (80mph FFS), the most 4 stroke like 2 stroke I have ever ridden just didn't seem right(don't get me wrong it was fast) and the RG500 was just so much better IMO.

Think you're spot on with that one.

Having re read the thread title I wouldn't say this was the most overated bike ever made as much just my biggest disappointment.

Norton Nemesis, Suzuki B-King, Aprillia Blue Marlin, Bimota V-Due, etc.

Take your pick - pretty much anything that promised so much, then never even made it into production.

Do you know what people are mostly? Bastards! Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
