"I want you to help me grow Visordown to be stronger than it ever was and judging by the 150+ user Bike Reviews you've already posted, you're up for it as much as I am!"

LOL.  Who was it who was bored and got told off for writing lots of rubbish reviews?

'The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.'

Add:

  • See who's on-line (summary and an indication next to their posts maybe?)
  • See all (?) of someone's threads / posts via their profile
  • Make the PM thing more obvious (just me?)

Just been looking at the list of other MA 'products' . . .

www.getwoodworking.com

Is that where the old 'this girl is perfect' thread went?

Oaky

I dunno how hard it is for you but for me under every post is a link to "message member" and up the top left of the page is a picture of me and a link to "My Inbox".

No so very different to vBulletin.

Horse:  You use 'Latest posts', then open the thread, then go to the last page . . .

Not the same thing at all.

What?  No Post Preview?  Insert Quote not working?  What a POS!

Ah, Ok.  But just in case there were some new people who do not realise that there *is* a better way.

Minor point, but the avatars are so small now, some are not worth having

Major point, Let's see who's online and how many are viewing each section - then we can see how many people are around and if the site is surviving....

I downloaded the firefox plugin thingy that removes the left hand bar - it makes a massive difference to the useablity of the site.

If this forums going to be centred around the people who use it that things got to go or at least have an option to remove it.

Might have been said above in the thread, but a preview button would be good. UBB tags might not work, and the picture attachment limit is too small (will never, ever bother myself to get images to that limit, keeping reasonable quality is hard), so I want to be sure I am posting pictures or whatever.

What's going on with the search function?

I can't seem to just come on, do a search for 'trumps' and be shown all the threads where people are telling me how much they love/hate/want to shag/punch me etc. Quite infuriating for a vain twat like me.

Well, it kinda worked, but it brought up threads from 2002 and similar years. ozey:

The crap on the left sucks ass big time too. I'm sure everything I'd whinge about has been whinged about shit loads already, except that i'd have done it with a lot more class and sexiness, naturally.

Anyway, i've just spent 3 weeks on a beach, so i'm tanned as fook and looking hot to trot. That has nothing to do with the pants new lay out of Vd, but hey, it's the best thing i've read on here tonight.

I could really do with having 40-50 posts per page so it's not faffing clicking forward all the time (I can't remember if I last read something on 11 or 12 or whatever - but I can remember 4 or 5...)

And the page numbers should be beside the thread link so I can go straight to page 4 not 1 then 4. It's stupid and costs YOU bandwidth with more page views to handle - though your advertisers get more impressions I suppose which is downright sneaky if that's the motive?

The increase of relevance on the left-hand bar as per my previous suggestion really would be more welcome than a nonsense list of people's reviews.

I would also like to know, purely from nosiness, just how VD's posting volumes, page views and visitor numbers have been affected by the disaffected previously fiercely loyal contingent who have taken their business elsewhere partly due to the T&Cs and changes but largely due to the poor member management that has recently affected the site following increased publicity, and drives to get numbers on board through the magazine - and what will be done to make the place hospitable again?

We all liked the laid back moderating but would largely have preferred a pro-active stance when needed, which it HAS been needing for some weeks and months...

' General' the other day, mid-afternoon, 8 threads had posts in an hour, IIRC.

When I get Topic Reply Notifications by email,  it takes me to the last page of the thread, despite that it may have grown a few pages since the last reply. Same issue as not having a New Post button on the board itself. Annoying. Very Annoying.

if we had the hover over summary thingy and the ability to choose the thread page number before we go into the thread itself, id be a happy camper,

as it is its not that bad really

if this site had been replaced by the old one, everyone would be happy...

I only visit occasionally now - to see if it's still the crappy new format.

just much more awkward to navigate and post IMO.

needs the hover over title thing back most of all

don't like the layout, colours - anything really

great shame

feedback:

functionality is sporadic at the best of times, the speed of the site is pathetic, it often is 'shut for essential maintenance' or just unacessable

quote works one min then doesnt the next. can no longer multi quote either.

general navigation around the site is more awkward and finicky, which tbh, is really putting me off using the site. cant be arsed with it alot of the time.

lots of useful things missing like go to last post in thread as a general setting, you can only go to the end post or the 1st post.

cant search properly as the search function is slow, not very thorough and has limited capapbilites compared to how it Used to work.

limited to the amount you can post in one post, which also wipes away the text you have typed. a royal pain in the arse, esp of your tryin to give advice and have spent ages writing somehting.

cant edit your own posts. why not? can you give me a good reason why we cant edit our own words after 20 mins or whatever the stupid time limit is?

cant delete a thread. again, why not? give me a good reason why you cant delete a thread you have chosen to post.

shite advertising threads appearing daily. at least before it was for porn rather than fucking shoes.

and thats just off the top of my head. give me an hour and i'm sure i'll have an even longer list. the only reason i'm still here is cos some of my mates are. atm, VD is getting the benifit of the doubt that they will address the annoying pain in the arse issues, but the longer this goes on, and the disticny lack of correcting mistakes and responses to issues, the more its looking like its not gona happen and i'm gona fook orf elsewhere as will alot that havent already.

can i just take the opportunity to say well done on all the "improvements" tho TWO and Magelica, top work. not.

Let me delete my own posts or threads ffs. If I make a mistake I would like to be able to to remove it other than relying on the mods removing it, same goes for editing. WTF?, make a new post in the same thread and you can't go back and edit the previous made post only a couple of mins before hand.
