Alpinestars SMX-Goretex

OK, granted, the first pair I had fell apart - badly.

But they are a great boot, plus there is a newer version out since I had my first pair.

................or Sidi Black Rain

I was going to get a pair of these, as they are a good boot to, but they didnt match my AS leathers.

SHUT IT!!

My SMX-G's are superb, so nuts! Worn them in snow/rain/thunder bla bla bla. Never been wet in them yet.

Have a pair of Alpinestars something-or-others.

Once, when the London Wall carpark flooded and was 3 inches deep in water, I was able to wade through to rescue some pretty Italian bird's scooter (she had on a long floral skirt and little shoes), then go back, get my own bike and paddle (literally) it out. My feet didn't get wet at all.

I thought that was pretty impressive.

I used to have a pair of Sidi Black Rains they were ace. Never leaked (wore them in all weather for a year + 12K miles), untill I eventually wore the material down at the front. I had problems with a broken zip and despite it only being a couple of days still in warranty it was repaired.

I've now got a pair of alpinestar SMX goretex, not cheap but again very waterproof. They suffer from the vertebra style squeaking problem (well at least mine do) and I found them pretty damn uncomfy at first.

My "impress Italian babes" ones. Or my shining armour.

Or perhaps a pair of Alpinestars. Goretex efforts, but I never pay much attention to names and brands really.

Another vote from me. I'm on my second pair which didn't leak at all in the storm last night.

Water dribbled down my leg into the boot, though

My Sidi couriers started to let water in after 12 hours of riding yesterday.

I think it was just the water running down my leathers though!!!

SMX-Goretex boots are good, and work well when tarmac surfing too.

Now got some Daytona Traveller GTX - Looking good so far

I use Akito Desmo and I have never had wet feet; including when standing in puddle helping someone up. I am on my second pair as I wore the first pair out.

They might not be sexy or that stylish but hey; I ride a Beemer and so am not concerned about style

Lst evenings torrential rain I rode home left me

Head dry Caberg J1
Body dry Motoline one piece waterproof suit
feet dry Akito Desmo
hands WET COLD and BLACK

Cheap and nasty supposedly w'proof gloves.

Keep it shiny side up and between the hedges.

Yesterday!

It was a little wet, to say the least but my new Gortex SMX boots did an excellent job.

I bought them 'cause I've had the same make for the last 6 years and they've never leaked and were as warm as toast in the winter (well? - blood temperature, toast).

There pricey - but well worth it, IMO.

I can also recommend my Hein Gericke waterproofs that did a fine job.

Not a good day to choose to do a track day at Darley Mooore!
