Surely it won't be much of a race.

F1 car - 600kg (including driver and fuel). 1000bhp. 4 massive tyres providing grip.

Bike - 250kg (including rider and fuel). 220bhp?. 2 skinny tyres providing grip.

Where is the competition?

A drag race?

Are we talking a standard type of bike or a specifically designed drag bike with a square, wide tyre to give it a chance?

Only 1 tyre provides grip for forward propulsion

When I wrote that it wasn't clear it was a drag race. A normal race will require 2 tyres to play their part.

Why don't you comment that on an F1 car ot only uses 2 tyres for grip for forward propulsion while you're at it?

FWIW when accelerating on my bike I had the use of one tyre and the soles of my feet as I scrambled to push it along a bit faster

A GP bike would of made it a fairer race

I'd think so..

I didn't hear it all as I was switching between channels so don't know much about the boat. But why use an F1 car against a BSB bike? Surley if they are going to do that then they should of used an F3 car or whatever.. or a GP bike.

F1 cars are gay.

At least the bike didn't need 'hairdryers' to maintain coolant temperature.

What's with the ?

Think about it..

It's a car related program for a start..
F1 also has millions more ££'s involved in it.. a much larger audience etc etc etc and they wouldn't want to show it get beaten by a bike would they? Ok the Moto GP bike costs lots more than a fireblade but I bet it isn't even a quarter of the cost of the F1 car.
It wouldn't of looked good would it?
