I think that based on this video, that this bike lift will be very unstable, and liable to drop the bike, hopefully not on the person next to it.
The lift works on a screw wind mechanism ( no hydraulics)- it is impossible for the bike to drop ( if secured on correctly)- I researched for over 06 months before purchasing- I think you may be referring to some hydraulic lifts, which have this reputation. The manufacturer gives a lifetime guarantee for this very reason.
