Cos of my long thin driveway it's a real pain to plug a cigarette-lighter powered tyre inflator into the car and top up my tyres, can you get ones that also plug into the mains at all?

Try a footpump. Doesn't need plugging in anywhere (except the tyre valve).

surely for 'topping up' plug ins are more effort than they're worth - how much air do you loose?

I use a bicycle 'track pump' (I like cycling too)

drinking is not the answer, but it may help you forget the question :burp:

OK, don't bother with the tyres until they look really flat and you can be arsed

I just plug my compressor into the socket on my bike, if I need to. But mostly I'll just use a large track pump, which does get the job done quicker.

HHmmmmm

I wonder what would drop mains voltage down to that of a car or bikes 12 volt battery.........a st....a ste.....ah ..... a step down transformer. I find these very handy sometimes in winter. And whilst its inflating my bike tyres I can get on with something else
