I hope the quality of the finishing is better than the America and Speedmaster.

I've been invited to an open evening at my local Triumph dealership next Wednesday to have a looksee at the T Bird so I'll let you know.

Don't say that - I want a Speedmaster! What's wrong with them - always thought Triumph's were supposed to be good quality?

"The bikes will arrive in the UK in early July"

I somehow thought that these bikes were being made in the UK....

The fit and finish quality of my 2007 Triumph America is outstanding. After two years and 12,000 miles it still looks new. But I do clean it regularly. I have never had any mechanical or any problems with this bike. It is made in Triumphs new plant in Thailand, just like the Speedmaster. I would imagine the new Thunderbird is also made there. This would not stop me from buying one, although the ugly radiator looks might. I know water cooled is the way of the future but they could have made the radiator a little less obtrusive. By the way, our own Harley Davidsons here in the U.S. have many parts outsourced from Asia. Hasn't seemed to hurt their sales. Bottom line, if YOU like the bike buy it. Don't get hung up on where it was assembled.
