Hi guys - long time no see...

Come February I should have acrued 3 years NCB on a bike policy. I'll be wanted to take on a van as a second vehicle and have noticed using the NCB on the van makes a big difference in the quote (ca. 40%). I've done a bit of phoning around to see if I can use my bikes no claims on the van, but they all seem to be saying no... Does anyone know a way around this; or a company I could use to insure both on one policy?

Cheers in advance

(PS, being 22 insurance is generally my main expense in life!)

i dont think that there is a way round that one mate

your no claims is attached to a different class of vehicle, pretty much the same as you would not be able to take your NCB from a car to a commercial vehicle

This is the thing with insurance companies, its a win win, have all the cake situation.

If you ride a bike and have X years no claims they cannot be transferred or account for anything in terms of car insurance and visa verse.

If you have an accident on a bike and make a claim, it also effects your car insurance.

R1 Loon explained why, but seriously it really is a win, wind; eat all the cake situation for insurance companies.

So forget your motorcycle or NCB on motorcycle insurance as you going to have to swallow the premium on a van, which ain't cheap even with 5 years no claims let alone 0.
