I blame socialism stifling free enterprise.

The pictures used in this signature are copyrighted and NO WAY am I granting free use to TWO of these nor any of my stuff.

Thank you for spoiling Visordown. Bring back the INDEPENDENT vBulletin boards.

I can see that selling tickets could lead to opposing fans being mixed up causing potential problems.

But how can selling a ticket be illegal?

You bought it, you own it, so surely you can sell it?

And the same thing happens at BSB, WSB & GP meetings, with cops patrolling the car parks. There's no risks of crowd trouble there

In a way the ticket touts do a service at race meetings paying for unwanted tickets, and they must sell them for below face value

So how is it illegal?

It's something to do with how they are sold, there is apparently some regulation on football ticket sales. Mind I have shifted 4 pairs of Man Utd tickets this past season, and regulated or not the bods that flog em for hundreds have no problem buying them for between 2 and 3 times the ticket price.

Sorry dude but thats tripe.

Supply and demand with fanatical fans. Touts will sell tickets costing £50 to someone who's turned up without for like £250

They are simple profiteers

And why not? If people are dumb enough to pay well above face value, then that's up to them, isn't it?

I know lots of touts make a business of getting in early for the best tickets to flog off at silly prices, but if people want them, then surely they need to get in early as well?

A guyhere has a tcket for England vs Brazil (I think). He said he was going to sell it for £300 ono. I said have you tried Ebay and he tells me its apprently illegal to do so. I assume that means breaches ebay rules or summat?

Anyway, he says the tickets only get sent out a day or two before to prevent the touts getting hold of them or allowing people enough time to sell them?

I've wondered about this myself. If you take gig tickets as the case with no segregation issues there's still a big "something miust be done" and I have no idea where it comes from.

We have a government which believes in a market in healthcare ffs, why the objection for tickets...

How does that work for the Champions League final, when all, and I mean ALL, ticket touts are scousers anyway? Did they just buy them off themselves at vastly inflated prices?

It's total bollocks, end of. If there is a problem which touts snapping up tickets en-mass then it's up to the vendors to ensure only a reasonable number get sold to any one individual.
Always said this law was arese-ended. Since when was arbitrage or marketeering illegal?

Come the revolution, brothers.....

I once had a Volvo, but I don't want to talk about it.

In winter 1968 his mother was sexually assaulted by a monkey whilst working as knife thrower for the circus. Given away at birth because of his hideous appearance and hairy toes, he was unaware that monkey genes would enable him to stay upright under the most testing of conditions. However, he soon discovered this talent and realised that he could use this extraordinary power to fight evil and make the world a safer place, but instead decided to sit on his arse all day wasting time on VISORDOWN........

It's illegal in most cases because the ticket usually states somewhere on it that it's non-transferable.
