Follow on from Nidges thread cause it's slow today......

So what have you ridden off road. Lets try to refrain from the 10 secounds across the fields on a road bike post.

Mine was YZ465h that was bloody mean machine had power valves just about every gear. And was hugh i was 15 when i had my first go on that. My biggest problem was kicking the thing over. But i had so much fun it was unreal. I would dearly love to get an off raod bike again but monies are an issue. So's how about you lot?

a little serow - xt225. Very nice little bikes, they are

I didn't like falling off though. And I did. Lots. It hurt.

Its no good looking for the needle if you have already lost the thread.

The only thing ive ever ridden off road was a 90cc quad bike, damn good fun but not a two wheeler.

But I am going to look at a seized crosser to use foe a rebuild project!!

My Dad's DT100 (I think??) when I was maybe 8 years old. I had to slide half off the seat to reach the gearshift and had to stop next to a wall or tree so I wouldn't fall over - I was on tip-toes just to reach the pegs

I often had to run home to get a bigger brother to help me pick it up again

I had a puch 50 cc bike with a plastic sprocket, also a Yamaha QT50 bought for £30 with bald tyres it would wash out all over the place.

Latterly I've had to make do with (in order):

YZ250
KX125
YZ250
YZ400
YZ426

still got the last two

A Honda 80 something or another
I was 11, we lived in Kuwait, the desert was my oyster. Unfortunately raw sewage is dumped in the desert where it forms a dry crust & is cunningly disguised as sand. My poor dad used to have to wade in up to his waist to retrieve the bike.
That bike also ended up with so much of my skin burned on to the exhaust

I may be gullible but at least I still have this magic fish

TS50 around the carpark of my local Co-op (remember co-ops!).

Bought an MTX200 and learnt to ride off road on coal/shale bings.

MTX80 and Bultaco 250 on holiday in Spain.

Also ridden a Transalp, XR650, Africa Twin and Dominator on road.

XR400 in Morocco a couple of years ago, including part of the usual Paris-Dakar route. A very tough bike! With a company called Motoaventures - going on one of their Andorran trips this September too
