Support our troops

on the 10th of october 2009 there is a national rideout to the war memorial arboretum in alrewas. this is a charity event in support of the men and women who have lost there lives serving this country. they are estimating around 10,000 bikers will be attending this ride all info is available here  http://www.rttw.org/ including how to register and donate to the cause.

its not the political issue you would be attending for, its just to show respect to the men and women who have gave there life fighting for this country

i have been in contact with some of the lads from the harley davidson site and they tell me its usually around 11 am start from drayton manor. i would arrive around 10ish or earlier as i understand theres a bit of breakfast on offer

update on event times

Thank you for pre registering for RTTW. If you have been checking the website you'll see that over 2100 other people have also. That's more than came altogether in 2008.

If you registered last year you may remember that I sent out these updates before the event to keep you informed. Should you not wish to receive these (I'll probably only do 2 more) then just e mail me back and I'll remove you from my database. We do not share your details with anyone else as we only use them to post your merchandise or contact you if we have a query.

The Days Timings

Registration / Merchandise sales at the start point ,Drayton Manor, opens at 08:00.(For those that asked the question, there are toilets in the Coach Park as well as the camping area )

Form up ready to depart - 10:30 .

Leave Drayton manor - 11:00

Service at the Arboretum - 13:30

Fly past - 13:55

If you cannot stay for the service please do not park in the Arboretum. There are other designated parking areas outside.

Meeting up points

If you are planning to travel to Drayton Manor in a group and wish to announce it for others to join please post the details and timings on the Forum under 'Meeting up Points '. I am aware that a few posts have been added but this will make it easier for others to view in one place . Most important info is Start Locations, any stops on the way plus timings

On the Ride

Please , Ride with Respect – Not to impress . Please keep to a 40mph limit and do not overtake . The ride will be broken up into sections but the route is fully marshalled so you cannot get lost . Splitting up the ride helps with parking at the Arboretum as it should help prevent jams and waiting there.

If you want to ride with your friends , please arrive with them or arrange to meet up before entering Drayton Manor

Post Event function

There will be an organised Post Event function that everyone is welcome to attend . More details will be posted on the next update

Flag Bearers

Flag bearers will be directed at the Registration point. Bottom gate. They will form up just outside the main parking area.

Breakfast at Drayton Manor

Prices and selection for this have been added to the website under 'Camping and Assembly'

to all attending tomorrow have a good trip down i personly have not far to travel around 20 miles, but shall be there quite early as im meeting up with one of the main contributors to the war memorial who's a friend before hand.

 if anyone feels like saying hi just look out for a big fella on a black cbr 125 and a small guy on a black bmw 850 the big fellas me dont be shy introduce yourself
