hi, does anyone know how i can remove  alloy wheels from a steel shaft, have been trying to get them off for hours, they are on my sons havel buggy,

A bit of gentle heat i would have thought, the alloy should expand quicker than the steel

Agreed. You're unlikely to have oxy/aceteline but a blowlamp (GAZ do one you can get from B&Q) would work.

That's what I was going to suggest, a Butane blow lamp, the kind that plumbers use, can be bought for around a tenner.

Yes, undo the nut first.

Lamp it from behind on the inner rim with a with a copper hammer, while turning it. That's served mechanics well for thousands of years.

If you can't get it loose like that, lamp it harder.

Alright John.....just thought i'd share a tip which has seen me remove many a stubborn alloy wheen from steel hub. No fancy catering torches required.

Would you like it in your special cup darling?

Boiling water might  work if you don't want to risk flames.

3 sugars, milky, but don't stir it, as I don't like it sweet.

Better than that AIS! Mr Kiplings French Fancies.

Oh yes. If the job goes on for a while I might whip up some bacon baps in a bit. World famous are Becca's Baps.
