Leathers and bikes ?

Why do people have their bikes sprayed up to match race bikes even including numbers etc...?
Why do they then wear replica leathers with someone elses name on the back ?
There's a guy near here rides a foggy rep ducati with foggy helmet and leathers. Even has foggies name on his back.
Whats with trying to look like a pro racer ?

It's not even restricted to bikers

Only last weekend I was on my GSE Ducati in Hodgy Leathers and Lid, when I rolled past the local playing fields. Men, playing football, in replica shirts with professional footballers name son the back.

*Tsk* Sunday footballers. Who do they think they are?
