That story is rather indicative of the state of hypersensativity that we are currently experiencing. The normally "unflappable" British mentality seems to have gone to the wall as every bag, box, envelope is a potential bomb. Every abandoned car is seen as a threat and the fear of flying is heightened to such an extent that this kind of incident occurs. I fear that at somepoint there we will witness and terrible tragedy ordinarily avoidable but in this state of awareness, inevitable.

That's nothing - when Fergie was Duchess of York they had to scramble an entire squadron to "escort" her into RAF Northolt.
