The black n white cheques on the lid, the hand cuffs on his belt and his ordinary work clothes should be a big enough indication he is a copper!  Never mind the little lights at the side of the number plate.

Why not?

Because you need accurate speed measuring hardware (nowhere on the bike) as proof.  And anything else ie dangerous driving etc etc would have to be corrorborated by a second person.

Still not convinced.

I'm pretty sure that they would make sure that the bike is fitted with whatever is needed to prove speeding offences.

Also, why do you need a second person to corroborate dangerous driving?

Not wishing to spam this thread Mr Loon but why didn't you make it known you were in London last week. Some of us down here might have bought you a beer - or a latte.

He wont need a second person to corroborate evidence of dangerous driving...he will have it all on video

Because it is the law - there is no way that there is speeding kit on the bike as there are very specific equipment pieces needed to prove speeding offences in a court of law.  The purpose of this guy will, at worst, be to pull you over for loud exhausts and visors etc.  That is just the way it is.

Mate the bike has got a video camera and recorder on it and a can accuratly say the speed you were doing, when he stops you he plays it all back to you and shows you the evidence, the bikes are designed to be a one man speed trap mate, i know for a fact as i recently watched myself on it

True they can show you a video and pressure you on the side of the road to admit to it.  But they cannot prosecute you on the strength of this EVER - Go to drivingoffence.com and they will tell you exactly why - There is catagorically no way in the world that if you choose to fight this that they will be able to secure a conviction.

So whats the difference between the bike and any other speed camera, fixed or mobile ? now ya may have a point there tho mate as i was recorded at 109mph but was sent on a rider awareness day thing that cost £150, no points or anything, maybe i should of gone to court rather than stumpin up the money, like most i thought phew, got off light there.

Having been through a similar stuation at an alledged 120 mph, I have earned a staggering amount about how hard it is to convict you if you refuse to play ball!

Are you for real?

Do you really think that's the way that the law operates in this country. Yes, there will be some dodgy coppers as in all walks of life, but are you seriously saying that the Police have strategically set themselves up to apply pressure to road users to confess to a crime, as the evidence is insufficient.

You were lucky. A bit more back luk and those three points could have been the difference between you loosing your license and keeping it.

The black and red one cruised alongside me, overtook with with and eventualy pulled away from me the Copper gave me a thumbs up as he sped off, when I saw him in the mirrors and doinfg shoulder checks I did not realise he was a copper untill he went past, I can hear you all saying poor obs but he looked just like any other bike rider and indeed did seem to be enjoying himself.

The thumbs up did more for me than any 'kill your speed ' signs.

Oh i know how lucky i was mate, but then i did it so would of taken what was to come, the copper was a nice bloke, but then i dont get cocky or clever when im stopped so generally they seem to be, i was expectin a ban when first stopped, but he said as i wasnt reckless with the speed he would recomend the course, so i was happy
