Bloody great they are. I've just got 'round to fitting the one that came with my shoei about a year ago. I was a bit wary of drilling holes in the visor in case there was any extra wind noise or leakage but there aint.

It absolutely positively will not mist up.

Aye they is good.

My shoei's have always had the pinlock stands already in place on new helmets (first one got about 2 years ago)

Well figured it was time to get rid of the red cross.

I understand this to be the norm but for some reason mine wasn't fitted. Glad I took the trouble though. The only fault with my XR1000 was that it's a bit prone to fogging up. The head vents are fine but the mouth vent is rubbish.

Agreed - much better than the Arai I had that the top front vents would refuse to stay closed. I got to the memorial meet last year with a stinking head ache and a big red mark on my head from where the vent had been funneling all the cold air.

Well figured it was time to get rid of the red cross.

I liked the vents on my astro r but the arai visor mechanism is pants (why do they persist with it?) and the visor itself pressed against my nose over about 120mph. The shoei has more room for my hooter.

You get better at it but I always think something is going to break everytime I change visors!

If it is cold enough (talking like 2 degrees) my pinlock starts to fog up even with a foggy, I think when it's that cold nothing will help other than not riding...

Yeah, my Astro R (which has the pins already fitted, don't you know) has a sun reactive visor which makes it darker the more intense the sun is.

It rules. I distinctly remember riding home through Oxfordshire where the sun was only catching my one eye. Imagine my delight when I saw half the visor (the half in sun ) turn darker and the half that wasn't in the sun remained light and clear.

They rule. They rule. They rule. I want to hug the inventor, especially if it is a fit bird. MMMmmm, fit bird.....

Come on Simon, pull your finger out and film "Spaced" series 3!

Another thumbs up for pinlock. I just wish that Shoei would offer a visor similar to the HyperOptik.

I have a Shoei XR1000 with the white pinlock things fitted already, i have not even opened the pinlock visor insert.... it is easy to fit? Do you have to take the existing visor out to fit it or can it be done whilst fitted to the helmet ?
