They tend to stay in the closet until retired, with Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King being the 2 most notable exceptions; looks like tennis is a more forginving sport, especially for lezzers (there are quite a few in the game now apparently).

It can be difficult for sport stars, as they need sponsorship and there is a big difference between accepting people are gay and actually holding them up as role models.
