So, if you turned up for a ride of my bike that is for sale, i take the cash off you before you go out on it, then you smash it......

Can i legally keep the money?...  In the real world guys..

Yep. A verbal contract is still legally binding. But I get to keep the scrap etc.

To right mate, when i sell my bikes i make em sign to say so before they go for a test ride and it also covers the time they go out to the time they get back regards speeding fines, fucked if im takin points and a fine for a test rider, all genuine buyers understand and have always signed, maybe im over cautious but prefer to cover my arse

You'd need a pretty tight contract or a receipt for sale, in which case they have already bought the bike

I’m not allowed to have any of these as my avatar, so here they are on my sig instead. However, I now can't add any new ones

Did you ever hear anyone say “That picture had better be banned, because I might look at it and it might be very damaging to me”

I look at it this way.Buyer looks over bike and decides if they want to negotiate a sale or not.If they are interested then a price is sorted subject to a test ride.Money is handed over and as long as the bike rides as it should they have bought it.If they bin it they have still bought it.

Of course morally your right but you would loose a court case.

If your bike is smashed up how can you prove it wasn't to blame for the accident ect ect. There are too many ways out of it legally.

I get them to sign something, see their insurance and license details I photocopy them as well. Not sure how water tight it is, but I have only needed it once.
