some friday afternoon fun.

I have my heart set on a new triumpg speed triple 1050. Bult alas I cannot afford a new one. Since the model only came out in 2005, there appear to be relatively few 2nd hand ones. I like the styling, the bike is getitng good reviews as does the engine. I would never buy without a test ride. But overall people seem to think it is a great bike. How does it compare to the previous model. Where there any issues with it? I am not as keen on the styling but could live with it. The other bike I am considering is a z1000 or z750. But have not yet been able to read a review on this bike. Are there any others I could consider?
I do all sorts of riding and don't really fall into any one catergory. I do go out fir day long rides, but don't necessarily tour. I do take my girlfriend as a pillon so something like the super duke is out.
I currenlty own a 2002 GSXR, I now that I ride more sensibly and am a little older I find the riding position cramped, and due to wearing glasses. the head down arse up of a sportsbike means I am eithe rlookjing over the top of my glasses or ride round with a kink in my neck. I don't really have a budget, as I know I am due a pay rise. But how much I do not know. But I would like to have a couple of options as a starting point.

You say you don't really have a budget, but you also say you can't afford a new stripple.

Fix a budget (even if you subsequently stray from it) and it will help narrow your options.

If you had the money the new Tiger might suit you?

One day the quote function will work for me again - and todays the day!!!!!

Get an 06 Z1000 - great bike (but I'm a bit biassed)

Orange Z1000 with a few mods....

I was looking at 1050 vs 955 speed trips too. I'd decided it had to be a 1050 for the styling but the price is a problem. However I notice that with a seat cowl the 955's looks are vastly improved (IMO) so I'm back to thinking a 955 in black, with a cowl would be grand. Grrrrr.

used 900 Hornets are extremely good value at the moment i would say.

There have been any god's amount of tests on the zed thou and the z750 in the rags and mags. Both bikes get good feedback. Now is the time to buy if you are looking a bargain. All that will change in a few weeks time.
