I went to my local bike shop (Premier Bikes, Didcot- top chaps) with every intention of buying a mint 1999 R1 they have in stock, but the test ride changed my mind- I really didn't get on with it, sad to say I think I'm getting too old for a head down arse up position.... anyway I spied a really nice looking 2003 XJR for the same money. Rode it, loved it, bought it. Here it is shortly after I had fitted some Scorpion cans:

I've got to say I am really impressed with the engine, super-smooth and a massive wave of torque. The handling is definitely on the soft side of squidgy and the back moves about a fair bit when your pushing it but, perversely, that's adding to the huge enjoyment factor

Had one myself in a bid to slow me down,But it only made me try harder.

Really rewarding to ride fast as the suspensions like jelly and it weighs a tonne. For me it was great bike

Have now liberated as few extra horses by fitting FJ1200 inlet rubbers, cutting down the airbox tube and putting in a K&N filter and Dynojet- this really has made a great bike almost perfect IMO

That is indeed a lovely looking bike.  I knew someone who fitted a screen to theirs.  Highly practical but ruined the look of it.  Yours is definitely the best colour.  And what a lovely looking hedge too.  But where did you find the sunshine, or is that photoshop?

Nice bike mista, not sure about the bellypan though.

Precursor to the Fazer Thou, best bike ever!
