Anyone got anything good / bad to say about them?

She definately wants a triumph... she recently test road a Daytona 955i and didnt get on with it at all...

I'm actually considering a Daytona 650 for myself early in Spring... worth buying or would I be better off with an R6?

Daytona 650 is a good looker, in my opinion. I would happily have one myself.
Also have a mate selling a very tidy TT600 for £1500 in Newcastle upon Tyne. 7500 miles, in Silver.

I had a TT600 as my second bike and a good bike it was to in terms of the brakes were excellent (best in class at the time), they are very comfy as the bars are high in comparison to the jap 600's.

The downsides are that there is a massive hole in the fuelling around 3500 rpm's which Triumph could never sort out regardless of which map they put on or with race can or not.

The only way to get rid of the hole was to buy a tune boy for it as there is no power commander available for them.

TTs are underpowered compared to the jap equivalent, but quite good handling...

looks have to grow on ya i reckon

Not too fussed about the power as she is coming from a 1998 Bandit GSF600... but obviously a nice increase over the Bandit is required

Can anyone recommend anything else worth considering?

Ideally she needs decent riding position (does alot of commuting) ... fairings and ideally a Triumph... lol

She isnt a fan of sports bikes either...

Regarding the r6 for you Scott, I had one, twitchy little bugger but lots of fun. If you get one, fit a steering dampner.

He is in Poland at the moment, but I will PM you his e-mail address.

I can tell you there is no document service history - he used to be a First Engineer on an oil tanker, so he knows how to spanner pretty well, and has done all the servicing hmself, incuding fitting the recall parts. In his words, "Lets make sure they are fitted right, eh?"

Only by a few bhp though?! Not something I would worry about personally. Very few people who would miss the power - especially at the top end. There wasn't much in it between his TT and my cbr600fy.

an old speed triple wopuld be the one for me...

upright riding position, sounds excellent, plenty of power, looks the nuts.. can get one in pink also..

win-win for a chick

TT is comfy as the bars are nice and high and very wide. The seat is also very soft and good for distance. Yes there is less power then the 600 jap bikes but probably about 5 bhp.

As before, you'd need to sort that fuelling glitch as it is a real pain around town at low speed when filtering etc.

Paul - Can you imagine Clare on a pink speed triple?

She'd hang me up...

- Still unsure on the R6... liking the Daytona 650 more...

Camel - cheers... would defo take a look

I've got a TT600 seat which has been cut out for the shorter rider (Mrs A had a TT6 a while back)

Free if you can be arsed to come and get it.

Oh, TT600
Looks shit
Fueling is crap at low revs, but it's only a problem if you ride in town a lot
Brakes are great
Build quality isn't bad either

Yup thats the bike I want... - In red though to match my helmet

She knows about VD forums but doesnt really visit forums ... too much time spent on facebook!!!

As for the shorter seat - thanks but the Wife is 5ft 8 so wont have any problems touching the ground

Did someone mention a Daytona 650?

I love mine - ridden the 600 and the TT before it too and the 650 is sooo much better. Fantastic on the road - goes as fast as I want it to go and looks good (tho some people dont like it's looks..)

R6 needs to be revved far more - depends what your into really..

PMSL

I still miss my old VR6... but a 200sx AND a Corrado plus two bikes and the workhorse would be a little OTT - believe me I have tried though

200sx might be going early next year though as I just dont use it anymore
