I miss having a kickstart for the bike. I know it's easier with electric but if you went out and had a flat battery at least you had a chance of getting home.

Are there any bikes made that still have a kick start option?

I doubt it, aprilla RS250 has one though, not sure if they're still making them

At your age I wouldn't have thought it was a good idea. Brittle bones and all.

Most teenagers need one

If you've ever tried kickstarting a SR500 you'd say fuck that

Your scoot has a kickstart because unlike a bike it not possible to push start it.

I wasn't thinking of using a kickstart myself.... I would send the wife out to do it for me.

Aren't they just used for riding around fields as a way to get kids started on bikes?

Yeah, bring it back Kickstart was good TV

I’m not allowed to have any of these as my avatar, so here they are on my sig instead. However, I now can't add any new ones

Did you ever hear anyone say “That picture had better be banned, because I might look at it and it might be very damaging to me”

I love Kickstarts! don't ask why coz i don't know

i had on on the CG125 i did my CBT on, awsome fun, and yea, it would be nice to know that if the battery died you could still start the bike.

but kick starting my rf600 would be a challenge indeed, but perhaps a clever person could think of a solution?

You'd think those super smart engineer types would come up with a solution to a kickstart for larger bikes. Can't be that difficult can it?

lol .... a 4 cylinder 600 would be a piece of piss... all about technique m8 ... if ya think thats bad try my xr650, no electric girlie starter on there

15/01/2009 at 14:07

lol! fair enough,

there was a system for kick starting 'large' capasity bikes, there were 500cc single cylinders way back when (so my old man tells me) no electric starts then either.

but meh, i believe that just about anything is possible...

Is it me or is there something really manly about kicking a bike into life???

Maybe just me then .

Some of my bikes have kickstarts and I don't mind using them. Doesn't really bother me either way though.

The Kawasaki W650 has a kick start, I think its illegale to make a bike thats  has a kick start and is more then 650cc ( In the UK) .
