Wonder why it refers to the Data Protection Act 1988, when any fule no it's the Data Protection Act 1998?

what is it suppose to show?

That you're insured. If your reg don't show, you probably ain't got any cover.

Or your insurance company have not posted the details up to the database.

summit makes me not want to click that link

You just have to accept that riding a bike is like sex. Always approach it that it could be the last ride you ever have so give it all you've got, nail it from start to finish.

My bad, of course it's the 1984 act that was superseded by the 1998 one.

Interestingly this from the Information Commisioner in 2004:

Quote
All the prosecutions in the past year have been for offences under section 55(1)(a) of the Data Protection Act 1998. This says that €œa person must not knowingly or recklessly, without the consent of the data controller obtain or disclose personal data ..€. Such offences may be committed where a person deceives or misleads an organisation into providing personal information that would not otherwise have been supplied.

I never realised breaking the law could be so easy.
