Two of the sports that I used to love to watch (aside from motorcycle racing of course) were Formula 1 and Football... I think that F1 has just become tedious over the last few years because whoever has the best car wins... and that "whoever" will usually be the team that chucks the most cash at it - so there's no even playing field.

Having read this morning that Mr Abramovich wants to create a 100 year Chelsea domination I have real concerns that football is going the same route... I'm not just an embittered Chelsea fan, and Jose Mourinho is obviously very good at his job BUT... I can't help but feel that if you gave Arsene Wenger, Alex Ferguson, Sam Allardyce or any competent manager £240 million quid to spend on players they'd win everything in sight too... surely at some point the FA or FIFA will have to take steps to limit spending / wges and save our national sport??

Seconded

I see a boundary. I eat that boundary and wash it down with a steaming hot cup of rules...

they do it in america with salary caps. i guess that will ahppen over here soon enough, but it doesnt stop dynasties and "succesfull franchises" and by then it will be too lateto stop chelsea being on par with real madrid, manUSA and ac milan in the long term.

BO, I'm a Stockport fan, the missus a Macclesfield fan...the standard is appalling. It was only marginally better when we were the 2nd team in Manchester.

The worst bit is watching some of the Champions league stuf, the high profile games - god they're dull, and that's where the money goes. Even Manure weren't at capacity on tuesday. Cos it's dull and fewer people care. But the money still gets plowed into it. Which eventually mine and your teams will become part time, with a league of Europe prevalent. And a dead game.
