A mate recently decided he's going to get a bike and he's wondering whether to do DAS or not. If you get an SV650 is the insurance cheaper for a restricted bike than a full power one?

My guess is no as the main component in TPFT for him is going to be the FT...

Ta in advance.

Everything I've ever read on here says 'no'.

Nope. Bike is merely assessed on group and toys fitted. The restrictions you place on it have no bearing.

Do not rely on anything I have said. Unless of course you have paid for the pleasure. Whereupon my insurance will sort out the mess.
But you can trust me not to blab it round the forum.

Insurance company probably won't ask if it's been restricted, it's up to you to prove it in the case of a claim.

Is the correct answer!

Insurance companies wont charge you less on a restricted bike, if he can do DAS tell him to. Restricted bikes are wank, and bikes that naturally produce 33bhp are as rare as rocking horse shit.
