While in Calcutta today I saw this article in The Statesman newspaper.

Bajaj Auto Ltd, the leading two and three wheel maker today indicated sales of 2.8 MILLION vehicles this year, targeting an annual turnover of Rs. 100 billion (approx £1.2 billion!). Mr Rajiv Bajaj managing director was quoted today during the launch of the company's new motorcycle the 200cc Pulsar.

The company is expecting a 25% growth this year and focusing on higher engine capacity and sporty performance motorcycles for its future course with a slew of launches scheduled. " By May the Pulsar 220cc with fuel injection will be launched and the following months a 200cc cruiser bike the Avenger should hit the market!"

Vice President Mr S Sridhar Bajaj, said, " This launch is in line with our strategy to enhance our product porfolio to offer riding excitement to pro bikers. The new Pulsar has now raised the bar in the motorcycle industry with superior technology and features such as the engine oil cooler and digital concole cooler".

"The company had made a conscious decision to move away from the lower margin, low capacity bikes and would now give emphasis to higher cc motorcycles"

How long before they get a Moto GP track and teams?!!

Thanks to Morgan Design.com, Liquid Image and ST Motorcycles for helping with the cost of Racing this year.

Quite a while at that rate

I see a boundary. I eat that boundary and wash it down with a steaming hot cup of rules...

What for? They exclusively sell small-capacity bikes to a domestic market.. the vast costs involved in a MotoGP team would reap nothing.

It's not like they're struggling for custom anyway.

I stand corrected. But you'd look a bit of a cock riding that wouldn't you?
