How long does sunstroke last?

Think I might have got a touch of this after today. My shoulders and the back of me' neck are quite fried and I feel a bit sick with a cracking headache coming on.

Is this sunstroke? If it is, what can I do to help me feel better and how long will I feel this crap?

I had a cool shower when I got in and drank a couple of glasses of water and also a bottle of Lucozade Sport - Hydro Active. As I don't have any After Sun creme I've had to use E45 on me shoulders and neck.

I'd keep on with the water - slow but steady, take some paracetamol too.

You'll probably feel crappy for the rest of the evening mate.

Poor you!! It can last just an evening or a couple of days

Keep drinking water. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Is it better to drink water or is that Lucozade Sport stuff any better? It's supposd to be Isotonic but I dunno if that's just sales pitch bollocks.

load and loads of water your body is dehydrated

I'd drink the lucozade - you might as well if you already have some in.... water when ya run out.

You'll know you're properly hydrated when you need to pay a visit every hour or so.

And take something for the headache.

If you've no after-sun, try a wet tea-towel on your shoulders.

Water - it really is Nature's gift.

Don't drink gallons at a time but little and often as poss.

E45's damn good stuff.

Isotonic drinks are just carb-packed for quick energy.

Okay then, water it is.

I seem to remember someone saying that you should put a bit of salt in the water too, summat to do with what you lose from sweating so much. Is that right?

No harm in doing so - salt is a naturally-occuring electroyte but don't over do it obviously!!

Teaspoon's worth in a pint of water'd be enough.

if you're going to fart about with that, you might as well drink lucozade sport (the dilute one, not the "nomal" sugary-concentrated one)

hope ya feeling better soon Eccles
