How do you survive working the notice period?!

For the first time ever, I'm serving my full one months notice period. In the industry that I'm in, corporate secrets usually mean that you're kicked out as soon as you hand over the "I'm off" letter

Does anyone have any tips for surviving the remaining weeks working at a place that give the impression they don't want you there anymore?!

I'm not actually under contract so could walk out if I felt like it, but this is a small industry and burning bridges can have a very real effect on future opportunities!

I was head-hunted by another company that made me an offer I just couldn't refuse. So after alot of thought, I handed my letter in and asked if I could work my notice as I really wanted to make sure my current task was completed and that there were no loose ends.

They understand that they can't compete with my new offer and have thanked me for offering to stay and have took me up on it, but I appear to have been properly 'black-balled'. It's making motivation very difficult!

I'm currently working my notice at the moment (after being absolutely convinced I would be put on gardening leave ), and even with a fairly substantial bonus being paid for a catalogue of KPIs it's really difficult to remain focussed- especially today when I've decided to "shirk from home"

I was contracted to 3 months at my last place of work. You think that one month is bad!
Just make sure that you handover your remaining work and that everyone who is involved knows where all your files and reports are.
Other than that surf the web!

Doing exactly the same thing, except with 13 week notice period. Luckily I'm on an interesting project that handily ends when I leave.

Got me eye on some nice bits of stationery though... how many staplers is too many?

Yup - I was contracted to three months at my last place and they wanted me to stay so made me work every bit of it whilst trying to change my mind (after giving my new employer duff reference - but that's another story).

After a month they moved me from System Admin to maintenance and made me complete my notice period. Painting, driving, moving furniture...

If you're still doing your job then just keep quiet, don't burn bridges etc
