I've used it a fair bit and had no problems. What did muc off have to say about the problem?

Never had a problem with it on any of the bikes I've used it on.

Well figured it was time to get rid of the red cross.

Good stuff just don't let it dry on it can be a bugger to shift if you do.

Don't use it on bodywork, use a car shampoo. Muc off used on wheels, swinger, forks etc. GT85 to finish, but don't the brake discs!!!!!! :burp:

I use it on the body work - well, just the front really, it gets rid of flies wicked! Hose the bike down, a generous spray of muc off, leave 5 mins, then wash with the regular car shampoo stuff.

Ride magazine rated some stuff called Hippo as the best, but none of my local shops sell it, and can't be arsed doing mail order for cleaning stuff.

WD40 is excellent for getting crap off wheels, like grease etc. But caution says spray on a cloth then apply, as it coulod go anywhere!

It's slightly corrosive - best to do as the container says and wet the bike down first.

Silkolene cleaner is just as good and isn't corrosive apparently.

I use it 50% diluted (as recommended by a bike garage) and never had any problems. Only use it undiluted on winter grime.

He says it's fooked his paint job although I suspect he's dropped it. Muc Off doesn't damage paintwork. It's good stuff.

Don't bother with it, Castrol Special Bike Cleaner is much, much better.

It's a bit shit for cleaning a month's worth of grime off, and poo at degreasing your cases too.

Sounds like your mate sprayed it on a dry bike and left it.

Muc Off is absolutely superb in the kitchen, all the other kitchen cleaners have been emasculated by the HSE but because Muc Off is a bike cleaner, it still actually cleans. Totally mullers greasy hobs an tings.

i tried muc-off and tbh i thought it was a bit shite.

but you can't leave it on for too long. maybe that's what your mate's done?

it's people like you that make people like me need medication!

I have muc off and the castrol stuff. Muc off does stain if you don't clean it off quick enough - and takes a bit of scrubbing on wheels - mine anyway! Castrol stuff is ok.

Used to use summat called Jizer(?), but that stained the swingarm on the hornet!

Basically I use whatever I can get, much of a muchness and I don't care as long as the bike gets clean!

wish I was a weeble
