I suppose most newer SE's are similar.

How the hell do you get the SIM card out?

Is there a trick to it?

TIA.

Nail and force, or a glasses screwdriver

Thanks, Taipan; you're a star!

Well that was a bit of a dead loss in the end. I lost my phone and got another on a different network. But O2 sent me a replacement SIM on my old number. I wanted to put it in my new phone to check for missed calls.

But all I got was 'Inactive SIM'.

Does that mean my phone's locked onto the new network?

Lying bastards in the shop (I know, I know...) assured me I'd be able to.

Inactive SIM does not usually mean its locked to another network. It usually happens if you use a old sim thats been de-activated by the service provider. Seeming its a new sim I guess o2 haven't activated it yet or something. You could also try taking it out giving it a rub on your jeans and putting it back in (sounds stupid but does work if its a problem reading the SIM)

Another possibility - is it a brand new phone you got or second hand? I presume its new as you said shop but if you bought it second hand it could be IEMI blocked which is non-removable and this would be the case if its been stolen.

Matt.

2 stroke - because one stroke isn't enough and four strokes waste two

Thanks for that. I'll try again tomorrow.

The phone's brand-new out of the shop on Saturday.

I don't buy phones off dodgy geezers in pubs!
