Are really at war with Terrorism, then Adams, McGuniess etc should be shitting bricks. We know who they are, where they live etc etc.
What about ETA and all the other tin pot terrorists?

Of course your assuming that good ol' George W is going to do more than shit his pants after the first casualties and then restrict himself to sending cruse missiles to rain down on innocent afganies

also it seems to me that retribution and solution are multually incompatable

Terrorist, is another mans' Freedom Fighter.
Either way, It`s not something that can be solved.
It`s a bit like the Cat & the Dog scenario. They will always fight. The same goes with the Irish and the rest of them. We just happen to be on the side with the biggest guns.

The IRA could have been stopped years ago. I`m sure the same goes for Bin Liner etc etc. It`s just that the Governments concerned are too scared by the political and social backlash to have done anything about it.

If Good ol George is to be believed, the Yanks no longer care what anyone thinks, and they`re going to get on with it. Good luck I say. I just hope we can do the same to our own "fly in the ointment" the IRA & all the other cowardly Irish gits.

The reason that war is so popular as a means of enforcing political will is that it (often) works. The Americans solved their problem with the Brits by the War of Independence. We solved Hitler's imperialism by the Second World War.

It's true that some conflicts don't have a clear outcome. And others have only a temporary effect, so that the original quarrel re-asserts itself. But faced with a determinedly violent enemy, there is no other choice but to restrain them.

I'm grimly amused at the appalling Adams, because he's so obviously frightened. Pathetic little scumbag.
