If minibikes count it was a Rupp Sprint powered by a Briggs & Stratton 3bhp grasscutter engine, otherwise it was a Yamaha 80 of early '70s vintage, dual purpose bike (wobble & crash).

First road bike was an LC350 cracking bike I was far to good for it until I fell off. My first actual bike was a tiny kawasaki kids crosser aged four must have been good coz I started racing a couple of years later

was an MZ250 Supa 5, and it was on some rough ground.
Fell off when I stopped cos I forgot to put my feet down. Broke an indicator. Oops!
Made a funny noise those bikes, made me larf!
Its no good looking for the needle if you have already lost the thread.

Honda SS50 (unrestricted).
That or the FS1E (which my mate had) were the things to have - would do 50-60mph downhill with the wind behind it. Great for learning basic mechanics too (only had it a couple of days before the carbs were being stripped and cleaned (etc etc))
