Faceless hoodies, not good, but should they be banned?

These new faceless hoodies made by Yoof clothing manufacturer Criminal Damage are certain to be popular with Yoofs, but there is a lot of criticism about their manufacture. Local polls havebacked a ban and now the Tories are saying the same. Somehow I just dont think that banning them is addressing the Yoof problem. You?

As long as they take them off when paying for petrol, just like us.

IMO they should be banned.

There is no good reason for wearing this other than to go out and behave badly knowing you will get away with it - bit like riding around with no number plate on your bike - and that's illegal.

The yoof issue may still be there and need to be 'fixed' some other way, but ban them in the meantime.

There's nothing wrong with the clothing as such - but you know it will get used for sinister purposes by yoofs.

Where can i get one .dead handy as my ski mask is getting worn

I'm leaving on the five train
Don't ask me when I'm coming back again
I reckon it's only a matter of time
Before the law kick in the door
Mother I'm running out of change,
but I had to phone to let you know

They'll never take me alive....

As long as they are taken off when you are being mugged or when they rob a store or ................................

Will they have to remove them in pertrol stations?
09/10/2007 at 08:49
Hmmm, how can you ban an item of clothing? Having said that, I know for a fact that round here in our unpoliced ghetto they will definitely be used for sinister purposes.

On principle I'm against banning stuff, but I'm not too sure on this one.

How about instead if it being illegal for people to wear them it become legal it shoot anyone wearing them or hunt them with dogs?

All those people that like hunting will be happy, anti hunt lobby cant complain since these are supposidly intelligent people who should be able to escape a pack of dogs, problem solved.

Or get terry wogan to endorse them on his radio 2 show, yoof wont want to wear them if grannies are.

On a serious note the goverment wont do anything - ban these and you are banning burka's and thats one hot potato that the goverment has been able to avoid for a long time.

Have balaclavas been banned?

No, so neither should these, though everyone buying one should have to be photographed by the shop-owner and these mugshots be given to dibble...besides anyone buying them wouldn't be old enough to go into a petrol station apart from to buy fizzy pop

By not allowing faces to be covered in this manner without a legitimate reason (damn, there goes my burka argument).

Except being able to exercise your free will in wearing whatever you think is fashionable or cool at the time. It's not my bag, but one should be able to wear whatever one likes, so long as it is not insulting etc.

If we're going to ban everything that can cover the face and cause identity problems, then I'd like crash helmets, long hair, scarfs, burqas, large sunglasses, beards and the rest to be banned as well.

I hate this culture where, as soon as someone points out there could potentially be a problem with something, it is simply banned. How long before something close to us goes the same way? Bikes?

hahahaha top idea - get the grannies wearing them down the shops to collect their pensions. Might frighten the life out of the little scrotes when they see a zombie gang hobbling towards them.

Hmmm, that gives me an idea, walking sticks that look like swords, couple that with the outfit and no post office will ever be robbed on a thursday.

I don't see how they can be banned without banning all face coverings, back to the burkha debate . Then as a normal hoodie does a good job of hiding the face they need to be banned too, and snorkel parkas, scarves, wide brimmed hats, balaclavas, wigs, beards, crash helmets and just for fashion offenses - Beenies.

Or maybe the government should understand that it has a lot to do with teenagers feeling oppressed by the state.

Somehow I dont this is a move by the yoof to protest against the CCTV state we live in. They're cool, they're the fashion, they want to commit crimes, I can believe all that, but not a statement against oppression.

Why is there this assumption that any teenager between the ages of 14 and 19 is a criminal? Why can't they just buy these things cos they think they look cool? Not every teenager in the country carries a gun and sells smack, you know...
