They'll all be getting identical ECUs from the governing body to work with.

Should provide some good griping.

Still I reckon they should bring some driver aids back, get rid of ones like flappy paddle gear shifts and the blackpol illuminations on the steering wheel, cut the aero back a bit and see stuff like this again:

And while we're at it, let's go back to playing snooker with straight-ish hazel twigs. None of this silly 100% straight laquered stuff.

I thought they banned it years ago ..

Didnt they just rename 'active suspension'?

Funny watching that: no flappy paddles. I'd almost forgotten that was the norm not so long ago!! There's a lot to be said for bringing things back to basics and leaving the drivers to duke it out but it goes against the whole principal that F1 is THE pinnacle of racing/engineering excellence. Best accept that F1 is flawed as a spectator sport and watch the touring cars instead!

Seriously, I shat myself watching that Senna lap.

He almost lost it on two seperate occassions and the layout of the track allowed 0 run off.

Taking your hand off the wheel is incredibly dangerous ..

TBH its like un-inventing gun-powder isnt it? It was incredibly dangerous and by proxy stunningly exciting.

Now its incredibly technical and by proxy boring as hell.

I'd be amazed if any modern driver would have the balls to drive the 1989 Mclaren.

I certainly wouldnt.

Indeed (although TBH I'm sure they would). Same goes for the 500cc 2-strokes cf the "friendly" 800cc lumps of the 2007 season (except they're still fun to watch)!

Ban the Grid Girls instead, that would make it really boring and not worth watching.

I'd get rid of the wings and shit, make the drivers get a feel for how much grip the tyres have got.

No driver feel under current F1 regs.

Same with motogp, ban the traction control, make the rider the computer, any loon could theoretically just wack the throttle open whilst leant over and wait for the electronics to do all the work.

It's only the internet.

Ban the 800's and give them Mini-Motos for a laugh, just for one race around a top class circuit...now that would seperate the men from the boys.

How? The ones who could stomach watching a 76 hour race are men and the ones who aren't are boys?

Wish they'd just say to the teams in motogp and f1; "right, fuck the rules do what you want lads"

i'd watch f1 then

Fuck off, come back and then fuck off again.

Good point, I would love it if the teams could do what the fuck they wanted. Choose whatever engine size they wanted, tyres from Kwik Fit or ATS etc.

Make the car chassis standard but all teams can source whatever they want from anywhere. Make it more like WRC.
