Good thread FBT,but I can't really see it being a massive problem.Donnington makes it's money from motor racing ,so somebody will take up the reins.

serves him right i say, we bikers have had to put up with shit service and facitities for yearsbut as soon as F1 comes along everthing gets upgraded, it dont matter about bikers though, fair enough its better than silverstone for viewing but a decent campsit, toilets, showers etc. would have been nice.

Seconded!! Especially when you compare it to the European circuits.

I didn't enjoy the GP last year, the facilities were rubbish! Planes taking off every 5 mins from E. Midlands airport, puke all over the campsite from the Download lot the weekend before...showers were disgusting! Half a mile hike with all your gear from where your bike was parked to the campsite.

Told my Bro, not doing it again this year...will go for the race but won't be camping again.

Oulton Park for BSB over the bank holiday, now that's a different story entirely. Can't wait for that!

Tim, I stopped going the British GP 5 years ago. Do Catalunia or Valencia instead, it will cost you less, it will be warmer, you will see more, it wont rain and you will be home quicker.

Bad news about DonningtonIt's not looking good.
24/04/2009 at 07:53

It's Formula 1 politics - the owner of Donnington circuit is Tom Weatcroft who is a mate of Bernie Eccelstone who wants to move F1 there.

Donington Ventures, who lease the circuit, have been rather slow to make the changes Ecclestone wants and are now being sued for non-payment of ground rent by Weatcroft.

It looks to me like Ecclestone wants to wrestle control of the venue and host the GP himself....

That's what R4 said this morning around 0720.

BTW Valencia is the most sterile of the Spanish rounds, Jerez and Barca are the real deal.

Mugello is also right up there with the best too.
