Silverstone don't want a one off deal in F1 and will only consider a long term contract. No F1 in the UK next year.

I thought it was owned by the BRDC? in which case it would take a committee(headed by Damon Hill)to agree to sell it..Looks like now that Donnington have screwed up, Silverstone has a very strong hand.. I read they were holding out as they werent prepared for a one year deal to bail out Ecclestone, and good on 'em for standing up to him..he dropped them when it suited, now he may have to crawl back or take F1 out into the desert..

isn't silverstone owned by the british racing drivers club? (or summat like that )

Anyway, once upon a time,

i think the problem is that they are fed up with bernie the dwarf dictating to them,so bernie and his six mates said "we'll take snow white and go to donington"

"but doningtons not up for F1"said sleepy

"no" said bernie,"but we'll let the thick fuck british public think we are pulling out of silverstone,in the mean time we'll go back to silverstone when they come crawling"

"what if they don't?" said happy

"they will "said bernie

"oh no they wont" said bashful

so they all lived  miserable ever after with no F1 in britain.

I hope they (Silverstone) tell the little fucking poison dwarf that is Ecclestone to fuck right off.

He runs F1 like an Ebay auction, with whatever muppet  that is prepared to pay the largest sum into his short trouser, getting the deal for a couple of years.

I do wonder where the WSB will end up though, cos if F1 is pulled from Donington, then there will be no way the geezer will be able to afford to carry out the rest of the work.

In a way I hope F1 goes back to Silverstone. It's no good for bike racing, you're too far away from the action, makes it all feel a bit antiseptic.

I don't know how far the work has gone at Donington, but that circuit could end up the same. I want to get closer to the action, not further away.

How about motogp to Brands Hatch, then?

Sucks. I've got great memories of Donington, hope they get the cash needed to fix it back up to be a working track. If it was just let to rot half-finished it would be a tragedy.

I remember one time I went there for a weekend of club racing, we were staying in the nearest pub down the road. Sitting at the bar I noticed there was a massive donut tyre mark on the wooden floor. I asked the barmaid where it came from and she said there was a big biker gathering the previous night and the pub landlord decided to ride his bike right into the bar and do a few donuts. Quality!

Why next door when there is enough space inside his house for a track?

now your talking me old luvver,no better bike track than brands GP.

anyway lads, i've had a word with bernie eccelscake last night (he plays darts for our B team, not a bad little player but every time he hits treble twenty we have to get the steps for him to get his darts out the board )

anyway, he says if i can get a few of the lads on here to chip in, he's quite prepared to run the F1 at Mallory. so if you can PM me all your bank details ,i'll make sure bernie gets the cash.

hurry whilst he's in a good mood,he won both his games last night and had shepherds pie for the after match supper, his favourite.

you see, that's the sort of attitude that keeps the GP out of britain

you can have me up the gary for a fiver though.
