Credit where credit is due that does look like it will do the business but commercial value?

Couriers and the flat cap brigade me thinks although for touring in harsh conditions where the fuel may be a bit suspect - spot on.

Not fair to call it boring though. I would guess at least 30bhp which means that as far as enduro bikes go it would not exactly be a slouch and I would assume it is reliable.

Fairings are for HOMOSEXUALS

Walking in town the other day and I spotted a piece of walking excrement. I pointed it out to the wife. She could not see it. I pointed again but to no avail. I took her right up to it and nearly stepped on it ... oh that she said. No dear, thats a copper.

Make a Road Goer and I'd be interested with one as a Commuter/Winter bike

Orginally developed for the army as they want everything to run on desiel under the single fuel policy. and bikes were the only petrol vehiccles left. I think some guys in the REME developed it at Shrivenham.

The Dead One

Thats right mate it was a REME job as I recall. Enfield also may have had a hand in it as they are the only other folks that make a Diesel bike to my Knowledge.

The Enfield diesel was a complete disaster. Ok yes excellent MPG but it was officially the slowest accelerating road vehicle (private) in 1995 (I think) 0-60 in 18.1 Seconds

Keep it shiny side up and between the hedges.

I dont know what it would be like to ride (weren't expecting a sports bike, were you !), but I bet it sounds nice......

The bass rumble alone should warn drivers from 600 yards....

If they got an Enfield diesel up to 60mph then they must have had a good 'un

Saw some in India, thought 'My god , that Enfield sounds rough' then recognised the smell as it dub-dub-dub-dubbed its way past.

Tig-r is right. The Royal Enfield was a pile of rubbish. At least this rolling chassis of this bike is Jap and the engine seems to have been a British sucess. If the article and its follow on pages is read you will see that this bike is being considered for commercial use. By all reports the marines gave it a real good appraisal.

Ever tried 0-60 . 2.3secs in Dehli I don't reckon you'd be on the bike long enough to find out

LOL; not Dehli but Colombo in Sri Lanka was scary enough.

Keep it shiny side up and between the hedges.
