Managed to accidently delete half my TT photos from the camera's CF card. Haven't used the card since and am hoping there is a tool out there that will allow me to recover them.

Anyone have any ideas how I might get them back?

peeps will need more info on the camera and the card etc... also the process used to delete.....

if they are like computer disks then there will be a way as it only removes the date stamp etc of the file, not the actual file... however do not copy anything else onto the card till you find out....

Camera is a Canon G1. I used the camera menu option to delete the photos - meant to delete a single image. There is no option on the camera to undo. I removed the card and haven't used it since. I'm hoping that only the index was removed and that the files still exist.

Card is compact flash. I have card readers connected to linux and win2k boxes but won't load the card until I have an idea of how to recover.

Have emailed Canon but haven't had any response yet.

You need a copy of Photo Rescue

Thanks guys Photorescue looks to be just the thing. The demo version shows me all the files. Doesn't improve the photos though, still at least I can get them back.

Best advice I can offer is don't go near the delete button with a hangover.

do you think they are still going to be there after seven years?

Compact flash cards sometimes come with a recovery disc.

Can you remember if you got one when you got your card?

And you obviously didn't realise that some silly little boy had resurrected a six-year-old thread, either.

WTF is wrong with people on here? Why the bloody obsession with ancient threads? Start a new one FFS

I have restored my corrupted images from CF card with the use of automatic digital image recovery software. It recovered my entire deleted, corrupted or formatted files with ease and less effort.
