Cost v Hype?

Just out of interest how much do you think bike associated products are over hyped and as a result overpriced?

Moggy was looking for a Knox back protector at £15 I thought that was really reasonable seeing as I paid £70 for a similar product (doesn't fit into jacket and has a warranty type compensation thing with it) and Ratbikezone mentioned it was alot of money for a bit of camping mat

How much are we blinkered in our attempts to make biking safer?

Surely you know the rules by now. If it costs more, it's better. Ask any Arai helmet owner.

20% at a guess, is brand.
You're also paying for CE/BSi Certs, which can be a few bob.

£15 or £150...

...versus the cost to you of being in a chair and spoonfed pureed cabbage for the rest of your life...

I do hope you didn't let RBZ, or anyone else, talk you out of catering for your own safety. He wouldn't wear a lid if he didn't have to.
